Frosted Lettuce in the Yuma Valley, 1/15/2007
January 22, 2007
Dear Valued Customer:
Unfortunately, the extraordinary cold in our Western growing regions continues and we have even seen snow
in both Arizona and Southern California.
The longer this situation continues, the more significant the impacts
on many of our crops, from fruit to vegetables to baby leaf crops. So we wanted to take this opportunity to
give you some advance notice about the likelihood of changes to expected supply volumes.
Because of this extreme weather, salad supplies will be signfiicantly constrained for the next 2-4 weeks and
we are cancelling all ads for the next 4 weeks, since we simply won’t have the volume to support them.
As we have advised you previously, supplies of both salads and commodities could be volatile into the
spring. In order to minimize the disruption, we’re doing our best to think several steps ahead of the elements
and do what it takes to continue to bring the highest quality organic produce and specialty salads to our
customers.
As we gain more knowledge of supply issues related to other specific commodities, we will make
every effort to give you advance notice.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause you. We thank you for your
understanding and look forward to continuing to serve you.
Sincerely,
Mike Stevens
